Purpose and Application

Pagnoni ER SK series collet chucks are engineered by Italian manufacturer Pagnoni Tools SRL for use on CNC milling machines and machining centers with SK spindles according to ISO 7388-1 (DIN 69871). The chucks are designed for clamping end mills, drills, boring heads, reamers, and other cylindrical shank cutting tools using ER collets according to DIN 6499 and ISO 15488 standards.

Design and Features

Tooling is manufactured from alloyed case-hardened steel with surface hardening to HRC 58±2 and a case depth of 0.4–0.5 mm. To ensure enhanced mechanical and technological properties, thread cutting and chamfering are executed after heat treatment. Chuck bodies undergo bluing finish, while mounting tapers are precision ground. Taper manufacturing accuracy meets class < AT3 according to DIN 7187 and DIN 2080 standards. All Pagnoni chucks undergo 100% outgoing quality control and are delivered factory-balanced to class G 6.3 at 15,000 rpm. Supplied with balanced GHREQ series clamping nuts and an internal length adjustment screw.

Compatibility

Chucks are designed for machine spindles with SK 30, SK 40, and SK 50 tapers (ISO 7388-1 / DIN 69871). Compatible with standard ER clamping collets according to ISO 15488 B (DIN 6499 B) sizes ER 16, ER 20, ER 25, ER 32, ER 40, and ER 50. Spindle retention is achieved via pull studs conforming to DIN 69872 (e.g., Pagnoni 930TIR01, 940TIR01, 950TIR01).

Selection Parameters

Model selection is based on spindle taper (SK 30, SK 40, SK 50) and ER collet size:

• ER 16: clamping range 1–10 mm, nut outer diameter D = 32 mm;
• ER 20: clamping range 1–13 mm, nut outer diameter D = 35 mm;
• ER 25: clamping range 1–16 mm, nut outer diameter D = 42 mm;
• ER 32: clamping range 2–20 mm, nut outer diameter D = 50 mm;
• ER 40: clamping range 3–26 mm, nut outer diameter D = 63 mm;
• ER 50: clamping range 10–34 mm, nut outer diameter D = 78 mm (for SK 50).

By coolant supply type, SK 30 execution is produced exclusively in Form AD (central supply), while SK 40 and SK 50 executions feature combined Form AD/B (central or flange supply). Projection modifications H are available from 55 mm to 200 mm.
