OPS-INGERSOLL GANTRY EAGLE 500 CNC Sinker EDM Machine — a compact model in the G-Line series for precision manufacturing of molds, dies, and tooling. The proven gantry design combined with the EAGLE POWERTEC generator delivers high dynamics, accuracy, and outstanding surface finish, even on parts with complex geometry.
Compared to the GANTRY EAGLE 400, this model offers a larger working envelope: travel of 525 / 400 / 450 mm, a 750 × 650 mm table, and a table load capacity of up to 1000 kg. The machine is ready for flexible automation — from a standalone unit to a robotic cell.
Gantry Construction
The thermosymmetric gantry design maintains accuracy even under heavy head loads. The dielectric tank is integrated into the machine base, improving thermal stability and optimizing fluid delivery.
EAGLE POWERTEC Generator
The generator adapts each discharge to the constantly changing conditions in the spark gap. This ensures high material removal rates with minimal electrode wear, sharp edges, and precise geometry — including in small-gap machining.
Maximum current — 60 A (optional 110 A).
EAGLE POWERJUMP
Fast Z-axis electrode lift — up to 18 m/min — ensures effective flushing even under demanding conditions, reducing both auxiliary and machining time. The motion adapts to electrode size and the type of machining.
Temperature Compensation
Sensors at key points on the machine detect temperature changes, and the system automatically compensates for coordinate drift. Combined with the symmetrical design and heat source cooling, this maintains accuracy in 24/7 operation.
According to the manufacturer, temperature drift over 24 hours with compensation enabled is less than 1 µm.
Integrated C-Axis
A high-dynamic, direct-drive C-axis is integrated into the machining head as standard equipment. It precisely holds even heavy and overhung electrodes up to 50 kg in position and enables multi-axis EDM machining. Compatible with standard electrode clamping systems.

- MultiChange automation: MultiChange light / performance systems for the GANTRY EAGLE 500 hold up to 232 electrodes and 10 workpiece pallets (configuration variable). Robotic cells and linear multi-machine automation are also available.
- Chip ID: RFID identification of electrodes and workpieces, eliminating setup errors.
- 5th / 6th controlled axes: indexing for multi-side machining in a single setup, or fully integrated axes with RTCP functionality.
- Accuracy packages: active dielectric cooling, position and geometry compensation, temperature compensation, laser interferometer axis positioning measurement.
- EcoTec: energy savings through warm-up programs, wake-up, and standby modes.
- Automatic lubrication — included as standard.
